New Jeonbuk Motors signing Kim Jung-Woo says he is delighted with his move to a club he believes is one of the premier sides in Asia.

The 29-year-old Korea international, who scored 19 goals in all competitions for military club Sangju Sangmu last season before briefly joining old club Seongnam Ilhwa, opted to sign with Jeonbuk on a three-year deal earlier this week after several clubs chased the free agent’s services in the off-season.

Kim’s move to Jeonbuk means he will link up again with 2011 K-League MVP Lee Dong-Gook as well as Kim Sang-Sik, who he previously played with at Seongnam.

The midfielder told reporters that he was hoping to rekindle their productive partnership in Jeonju.

“We had good memories while playing in Seongnam. If we train and communicate together in the future, we will show a solid performance on the pitch,” Kim told reporters.

Kim added that he was thrilled to move to Jeonbuk for a deal estimated to be worth one million euros per season.

“I am happy that I joined Jeonbuk, which is becoming a premier club not only in the K-League but also in Asia,” Kim said.

“I will put my best effort forward to lift Jeonbuk’s image and meet people’s expectations of me.”

Jeonbuk’s interim coach Lee Heung-Sil, who took over from Choi Kang-Hee who has become the Korean national team boss, said Kim would be a ‘key player’ for the club.
