Leeds United are interested in signing Sean Longstaff from Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, according to Newcastle World. The report has claimed that Newcastle, who finished in the top five of the Premier League table last season and will play in the UEFA Champions League in the 2025-26 campaign, are ready to let Longstaff leave this summer.
Longstaff’s contract was due to run out at the end of June, but Newcastle decided to trigger an extension to keep him at the club until the summer of 2026. This has been done so that the Magpies get a decent transfer fee for the 27-year-old English midfielder.
Leeds will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship. Meanwhile, Everton ended the 2024-25 Premier League campaign in 13th place in the Premier League table.
