Hapoel Tel Aviv lost ground on Ligat Ha’al’s top two after conceding a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
Midfielder Roei Gordana put Dror Kashtan’s side ahead early in the second half, but Ido Exbard struck late on to deny the visitors all three points at Vasermil Stadium on Saturday.
Gordana, 21, opened the scoring in the 52nd minute, firing home from the edge of the area to give his third-placed team the lead.
But the hosts found their equaliser in stoppage time when Exbard netted after Cameroon-born Amernian goalkeeper Apoula Edel could only parry Moti Malka’s strike.
Hapoel Tel Aviv are nine points adrift of the top after league leaders Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona and second-placed Ashdod both recorded wins.
