Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace: Late Salah strike earns point for champions

Mohamed Salah’s late goal handed champions Liverpool a point as they ended their league campaign with a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace at a triumphant Anfield.

The home side made a slow start and went behind after nine minutes as Tyrick Mitchell set Ismaila Sarr free inside the area, and he swept an effort past Alisson.

Liverpool had chances to equalise through the likes of Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota, but their job was made much harder after Ryan Gravenberch was sent off for a last-man challenge on Daichi Kamada with just over 20 minutes remaining.

Conceding late on meant FA Cup winners Palace were forced to settle for 12th place, though they will nevertheless have European football to look forward to next season.
