Liverpool are monitoring the situations of Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko, but the Premier League champions have Alexander Isak as their main striker target in the summer transfer window, according to TBR.
The report has claimed that while Liverpool are aware of Sporting CP striker Gyokeres and RB Leipzig marksman Sesko, the Reds are more keen on Newcastle hitman Isak.
TBR Football‘s Chief Correspondent Graeme Bailey said: “Liverpool are aware of him (Gyokeres) for sure, but he hasn’t really come up in recruitment conversations much.
“I wouldn’t say for certain that they are not in the mix. They (Liverpool) have briefed to say they know the striker market, so I think that tells us they are keeping tabs on it, like with Sesko too.”
Newcastle are in talks with Isak over a new contract and want the Sweden international to extend his stay at St. James’ Park. The Magpies are willing to pay the striker over £150,000 per week and make him their highest-paid footballer in history.
