Liverpool are among the clubs interested in signing Jan Paul van Hecke from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window, according to TBR. The report has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also keen on the 25-year-old Netherlands international central defender.
Journalist Graeme Bailey told TBR: “Van Hecke was outstanding last season and I am told his performances caught the eye of a host of clubs – he is certainly one to keep an eye on.
“Brighton are working hard on a new deal, and they had hoped it would be finalised by now.”
Van Hecke has been on the books of Brighton since 2020 and has been out on loan at Heerenveen and Blackburn Rovers during his time at the Seagulls so far. The centre-back is under contract at Brighton until the summer of 2027.
