Liverpool target Rodrygo if Alexander Isak bid fails

Liverpool plan to make a bid for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo if they are unable to get a deal done with Newcastle United for Alexander Isak, according to Football Insider. The Premier League champions have had a bid for Isak already turned down, and if they fail to bring him to Anfield, then they will move for Rodrygo.

The Reds made a bid of £110 million plus add-ons for Isak, but Newcastle turned it down. There is speculation that Liverpool plan to make a second and improved offer in the coming days.

Madrid manager Xabi Alonso is reporteldy keen on keeping Rodrygo, but the Brazil international forward himself is not happy at the Santiago Bernabeu and could leave. Los Blancos want at least £100 million for the 24-year-old Brazil international forward, who has won the La Liga title thice and the UEFA Champions League twice with Madrid so far in his career.
