Liverpool are on the verge of signing Alexander Isak from Premier League rivals Newcastle United on the final day of the summer transfer window, according to talkSPORT. Newcastle have changed their stance on not selling the striker, who is now set to join the defending Premier League champions.
The report has claimed that Liverpool will pay a fixed fee of £125 million for Isak, who will pay Newcastle £5 million so that the total fee comes up to £130 million. This wll make the former Real Sociedad striker the most expensive player in Liverpool history as well as the most expensive signing in British football history.
Isak is not the only player who could sign for Liverpool on deadline day. The Merseyside club have offered Crystal Palace £35 million for Marc Guehi, who is out of contract at last season’s FA Cup winners at the end of the season and does not plan on signing a new contract.
