Real Madrid will meet Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey if the pair progress to the last eight.
The draw for the last 16 was made on Friday morning and defending champions Madrid will take on Malaga, while Barca, last year’s runners-up, will tackle Osasuna.
If the top two in La Liga both reach the quarters, the pair would first collide at the Santiago Bernabeu before meeting again at the Camp Nou in the second leg.
Elsewhere in the last 16, Valencia have been paired with Sevilla, and Real Sociedad will face off with Mallorca in two all-La Liga encounters.
Albacete, who sensationally dumped Atletico Madrid out of the competition in the previous round, have been rewarded for their giant-killing heroics with a tie against Athletic Bilbao.
The other Segunda B outfit left in the competition, Mirandes, will take on Racing Santander, while Segunda Division sides Alcorcon and Cordoba will play Levante and Espanyol, respectively.
The first legs of the last 16 ties will be staged on January 3 and 4, with the return legs scheduled for January 11 and 12.
