Barcelona director Andoni Zubizarreta says he will not lose sleep over a potential Clasico match-up with Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey.
Speaking at an award ceremony in Biscay on Friday, the former Spain goalkeeper underlined the danger posed by underestimating fourth-round opponents Osasuna, despite Barcelona’s resounding 8-0 victory against the Basque outfit in La Liga in September.
“I will not lose sleep if we face Real Madrid because my first sleep will be against Osasuna,” said Zubizarreta.
“I do not like to foresee scenarios, but rather focus on what will come next.”
“The league win at Osasuna was easy, but every game is different and it is safe to assume that they have learned much since then. The same goes for (manager Pep) Guardiola too.”
However, when asked by reporters about the potential signing of Santos striker Neymar, Zubizarreta declined to comment on the situation which has seen recent speculation link both parties together.
“I do not speak for other players,” he said.
Barcelona go into the winter break second place in La Liga, three points behind league leaders Real Madrid.
