Maradona set for surgery

Al Wasl head coach and Argentina legend Diego Maradona has been admitted to hospital, having been diagnosed with kidney stones.

After going to hospital for a check-up on Sunday, Maradona was kept in for observation and it was later decided that the former Argentina star would undergo surgery.

“He felt pain this morning so he was sent to a private hospital in Dubai this afternoon. He will be operated on this evening and he is expected to be discharged tomorrow,” an Al Wasl spokesman said.

UAE Pro League outfit Al Wasl are expected to provide further updates about Maradona’s situation on Monday.
