Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is on the verge of joining Liverpool on the final day of the summer transfer window, according to The Telegraph. Premier League rivals Liverpool and Palace have agreed on a deal, with a medical scheduled for Guehi.
Guehi is out of contract at Palace at the end of the season. The England international centre-back does not have any intention of signing a new deal, even if the Eagles decide not to sell him this summer. Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate form the first-choice centre-back pairing for Liverpool, but the latter is out of contract at the defending Premier League champions next summer.
Liverpool have been very busy in the summer transfer window and have signed Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong, among others. Alexander Isak is also set to join Liverpool from Newcastle United, with the striker espected to lead the line for Arne Slot’s side.
