Young Colombian star Luis Muriel has admitted that he is waiting to find out if he has a future with Lecce.
The 20-year-old striker, whose contract belongs to Udinese, signed a loan deal with Lecce until December 30 in August, after spending time in Granada on a similar short-term move the year before.
He has made eight appearances for the club and scored twice.
Speaking from his native Barranquilla on Friday, the starlet affirmed that he was keen to stay with the club, but that he would have to wait for his future to be defined.
“We are waiting until the end of the year, I am waiting to see if I will continue in Lecce or if I am going to another club,” Muriel told Caracol.
He added that his team-mates have high hopes of him staying, and that they do not want to see him play for another club in 2012.
“At the moment they are always teasing me, they tell me that I am their great hope and important for salvation,” he said.
Lecce currently find themselves at the bottom of the Serie A table, with just nine points taken from their first 16 games.
