Kashiwa Reysol manager Nelsinho sees no reason why his side should change their playing style for the Club World Cup.
The recently crowned J.League champions portrayed exemplary attacking attitude throughout the season and ahead of their opening Club World Cup match against New Zealand side Auckland City on Thursday, Nelsinho rallied his troops by urging them to not alter their attacking mindset.
“We shall not change the way in which we have produced results,” he said. “I’ve told the players that we will win if we play by our standards.”
However he added: “Our team are not made of just 11 regulars. I choose players depending on what is required for each game.”
“The players performed well after they were sent in. I expect much from all players on the first team and the bench while they all try and work hard to produce results.”
If Kashiwa knock off Auckland, they would then face CONCACAF champions Monterrey for the right to meet Brazilian giants Santos in the semi-final.
Reysol’s Brazilian Jorge Wagner admitted that was a tantalising prospect for him, but remained focussed on the first task, the amateur New Zealand outfit.
“I played them over and over while I was in Brazil. But we want to get ready for Auckland first,” he said.
