Newcastle United are planning to make a bid for Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Ramos, according to Football Transfers. With Alexander Isak the subject of strong interest from Liverpool, Newcastle are keen on signing a replacement for the Sweden international.
While Newcastle have made Benjamin Sesko their top target, the RB Leipzig striker wants to join Manchester United, who, like the Magpies, have made a bid for the Slovenia international. The Carabao Cup winners are aware that they need to have an alternative should they not be able to sign Sesko and have Ramos on their radar now.
Football Transfers has reported that Newcastle now plan to approach Ramos and gauge his interest in leaving Paris Saint-Germain for St. James’ Park this summer. The report has noted that Newcastle manager Eddie Howe wants two strikers in his team for next season, and the plan is for the Magpies to sign Ramos along with Sesko or Yoane Wissa.
