Obraniak makes Bordeaux switch

Bordeaux have announced the signing of Lille midfielder Ludovic Obraniak for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year contract with Francis Gillot’s side and could make his debut against Ligue 1 rivals Valenciennes on Saturday.

Obraniak’s transfer signals the end of a fruitful four-year association with Lille, having joined the club from Metz in 2007 for 1.2 million euros and Daniel Gygax.

The Metz-born Poland international went on to feature in over 150 matches for the French champions, but had been used largely from the bench during the 2011/12 campaign.

Obraniak’s arrival is the second acquisition for Bordeaux in the January transfer window, following right-back Mariano’s move from Fluminense.
