Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins has told his club that he wants to join Manchester United in the summer transfer window, according to journalist Ross Harwood.
The journalist has reported on X that Villa are looking for £45 million, and it remains to be seen if Man Utd make a bid for Watkins, with the Premier League giants also eyeing a move for RB Leipzig and Slovenia international striker Benjamin Sesko.
Harwood wrote: “Watkins to communicate with Villa that he wants to move and if Utd bid, he wants it to be accepted.
“Understand club is looking to get a deal for around £45m, with Watkins pushing it will put this in position where it would be difficult for Villa to turn down.
“Positive as player wants this to happen.”
The journalist said earlier: “Ruben prefers Watkins. Vivell wants Sesko and is trying to push for it.
“Ruben would be satisfied with either but prefers Watkins. Club very confident they will secure one of them.
“Work is being done.”
