Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini has dismissed the notion he is targeting a draw in Tuesday’s Copa del Rey clash at Real Madrid.

The Andalusians travel to the Santiago Bernabeu hoping to secure a positive result after being thrashed 4-0 by Jose Mourinho’s men in their La Liga clash in October.

Pellegrini is aware of the tough task ahead but says his men will not change their approach in the two-legged affair, starting with Tuesday’s match in the Spanish capital.

“We will try to go through by keeping our traditional playing style,” he said. “We will not be defensive or look for a goalless draw.”

“If we do not progress I want it to be because Madrid were better, not because we were not good enough.”

“The Copa del Rey is a good goal and my dream is to go as far as possible.”

The return leg at La Rosaleda is on January 10.
