Pepe hits back at jealousy claims

Defender Pepe has hit out at Dani Alves’ claims that Real Madrid are jealous of Barcelona.

Barcelona defender Alves recently voiced his opinion that Real are jealous of the Catalans’ achievements after Madrid coach Jose Mourinho belittled Barcelona’s Club World Cup win by describing the tournament as “nothing more than a few small games”.

But Pepe has refuted Alves claims, saying Madrid are too big a club to envy other teams.

“Jealous? We do not envy any other team. I play for the best club in the world,” Pepe told AS>

“Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world and it’s impossible for us to be jealous of other clubs.”

Real Madrid currently sit top of the Primera Division table with a three-point lead over Barcelona.
