Pepe says he did not attempt to injure Lionel Messi during Real Madrid’s 2-1 defeat to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey quarter finals.

The low point of an ill-tempered performance from Pepe came when the 28-year-old centre-back was spotted standing on the hand of Ballon d’Or winner Messi in Wednesday’s match.

Portugal international Pepe has now released a statement claiming there was no malice intended during the incident in Real’s first-leg defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“With regard to the play involving Leo Messi, it was an involuntary act,” Pepe said in the statement.

“But even still, if Messi is offended, I apologise as I was only intending on defending my team.”

“I give myself body and soul (in matches) and it never goes through my head to hurt a colleague.”

Pepe and Messi are both expected to be involved when the two teams meet in the second leg at Camp Nou next Wednesday.

Pepe and the boss mourinho and rest of the crooks had planned it long time ago I’ve several times commented about this when cheap class players like Marcelo, Pepe and others were trying hardcore slide tackles on Messi but he some how managed to survive being alert and athletic. But atlast the backstubbers got their target. Shame on u A** H***s. I think real and this HYENAs will get sunked deep down under when they’ll LIONel Messi.

It is a shame on Pepe. How on earth will he say that ithe action was not intentional, it is a blikning lie and he should be punished for the act.
