Benni McCarthy believes that even when he is out of form, Orlando Pirates remain a good team.
The Pirates striker admits he was off the pace on Wednesday night, when Pirates maintained their unbeaten home record this season in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League with a 2-0 victory over Golden Arrows.
McCarthy, who made way for Tokelo Rantie on the hour mark, said Pirates have a lot of quality at their disposal and a united front when the going gets tough.
“We play for each other. Pirates is not a one-man team and if I can’t do it then there are other 10 players who can do it. It was a lovely way to end the (year),” McCarthy said.
The former Bafana Bafana international has also welcomed the two-month break, saying it gives him time to recuperate.
