Bookmaker: Zetbet

Legia Warsaw and Aktobe will lock horns with each other in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers this week. The first leg of the first qualifying round tie between the Ekstraklasa club and the Kazakhstan Premier League team will be held at The Marshall Józef Piłsudski’s Municipal Stadium of Legia Warsaw in Warsaw and is scheduled to kick off at 8pm UK time on Thursday.

Legia Warsaw

Legia Warsaw are arguably the biggest club in Poland and are also the most successful team from the European country. Legioniści have won the Polish league title a record 15 times and have also clinched the Polish Cup on 21 occasions – another record.

Wojskowi, who are the only Polish club never to have been relegated from the top flight since World Cup II, have extensive experience in Europe as well and will fancy their chances of going all the way in the Europa League group stage as well.

Legia finished fifth in the 2024–25 Ekstraklasa table and will be determined to bounce back and win the league title in Poland in the 2025-26 campaign as well as go far in the UEFA Europa League.

Team News:

Legia Warsaw have Kacper Tobiasz, Steve Kapuadi, Marco Burch, Ruben Vinagre, Maximillian Oyedele, Juergen Elitim, Kacper Chodyna, Patryk Kun, Ilya Shkurun and Jean-Pierre Nsame in their squad for the first leg against Aktobe.

Aktobe

Aktobe are one of the most well-known clubs in the Kazakhstan Premier League. The Red and Whites have won the league title five times, the Kazakhstan Cup once and the Kazakhstan Super Cup on three occasions.

The Red and Whites finished third in the 2024 Kazakhstan Premier League table last season and now stand a chance of progressing to the group stage of the Europa League.

It is going to be hard for Aktobe, though, as they do not have as much experience as Legia Warsaw. A heavy defeat in Poland in the first leg could be a huge blow to their chances of progressing to the next qualifying round of the Europa League.

Team News:

Aktobe have Igor Trofimets, Andrei Vlad, Alibek Kassym, Gaby Kiki, Nemanja Andelkovic, Bogdan Vatajelu, Uche Agbo, Daniel Sosah, Jayro Jean and Nikita Korzun in their squad for the first leg against Aktobe.

Key Factors to Consider

  • Legia Warsaw have won 2 of their last 5 matches in all competitions.

  • Legia Warsaw have drawn 1 of their last 5 matches in all competitions.
  • Aktobe have lost 2 of their last 5 games in all competitions.
