Ranieri proud of Inter character

Inter coach Claudio Ranieri feels his team are showing signs of turning a corner after enduring a difficult start to the Serie A season.

Speaking at a press conference prior to the trip to Cesena on Sunday, Ranieri praised his players’ character and versatility, which he says have contributed to their upturn in form of four league wins in five.

“In these (recent) games we have moved up to an honourable position, and you have seen what these players are made of,” said Ranieri.

“Our combination of young and experienced players is yielding positive results and there is a growing belief in the team.”

“However I think we have to wait until the end of the first part of the season, then we can take stock and see how far we have progressed.”

Ranieri also offered his analysis on their forthcoming opponents, led by the recent appointment of Daniele Arrigoni, who has ignited a similar revival for Cesena of late.

However, he urged Inter to not drop their guard in and remains wary of the unpredictable threat they may pose.

“I never trust anyone. There’s a match to play with unknowns, there will be difficulties and it will be good to overcome them,” he said.

“Every match is different, and I do not know what tomorrow brings. We must be prepared, then we can tell if it was easy or not.”

“Cesena are going through a good period of form. He (Arrigoni) has put together a series of victories after the defeat against Juventus.”
