Lazio coach Edy Reja believes his men deserved their 2-0 Serie A win over Atalanta on Sunday.

Lazio dominated play from the start at the Stadio Olimpico, with goals from Hernanes and Miroslav Klose helping the hosts to a comfortable win.

The victory kept the Rome-based club’s Scudetto ambitions alive, much to the satisfaction of Reja.

“It’s a good result and the lads fully deserve their win. We put in a very encouraging performance in the first half. We pressed very high and closed down space quite well,” Reja said after the match.

“We didn’t take any risks at the back. We lacked the conviction to score a second goal for a while. We didn’t use our opportunities, but eventually got the second goal we deserved.”

Lazio sit fourth on the Serie A table, five points behind table toppers Juventus.
