Lazio coach Edy Reja expects his team to be tested away to Siena when the Serie A season resumes on Saturday.

Reja’s side are fourth in the table, four points back from league leaders Juventus, and were held to draws in their last two matches prior to the mid-season break.

They travel to face a Siena team who are without a win in seven Serie A fixtures, and sit 16th, just three points outside the relegation zone.

Despite the odds being in Lazio’s favour, Reja believes his team will have to work hard if they are earn all three points at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

“As regards to Siena, they’re a very physical side,” he said.

“I wouldn’t say that the ground they play at is small, but it’s a difficult place to go.”

“Siena work very hard from a tactical point of view, and they’re quite physical, as I said.”

“They’re a team that work especially hard to close you down, they really close down the space, particularly on the wings.”

While highlighting the threat posed by Siena, Reja has every confidence in the ability of his players to overcome their opponents on Saturday.

“They (Siena) will certainly be a team we need to respect,” he said.

“But I believe that we’re good enough to cope with that.”

“We have enough experience and quality from a technical point of view to get a result. We need to be fully committed and start the game well.”

“We need to expose the space on the pitch that they leave us if possible and that will help us create opportunities.”

“We certainly are good enough to also cause Siena problems too.”
