Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly sacked coach Antoine Kombouare and replaced him with Rafael Benitez, according to Al-Jazeera.
The Qatari television channel claims that, after lengthy discussions between board members at the Parc des Princes over the weekend, they have opted to sack ex-Valenciennes trainer Kombouare and have approached former Liverpool, Valencia and Inter Milan manager Benitez.
Benitez has been without club since his dismissal from Serie A outfit Inter in December 2010 but enjoyed success at the helm of English Premier League club Liverpool between 2004 and 2010, winning a Champions League in 2005 and an FA Cup in 2006.
Kombouare led PSG to fourth place in Ligue 1 and Europa League qualification last season but has seemingly failed to meet the expectations of owners Qatar Investment Authority.
The QIA seized control of the club in May and invested heavily, bringing in big-name signings such as Javier Pastore and Jeremy Menez.
The capital club ended a run of three-straight defeats on Sunday with a 3-2 win over Auxerre to stay second in the table.
