Bayern Munich sporting director Christian Nerlinger has hinted that the club will offer Arjen Robben a new contract in the coming months.

The Dutchman’s current deal expires in the summer of 2013 and the winger has already made it clear that he is looking to stay with the Bavarians.

The 27-year-old moved to Bayern in 2009 in a 25-million-euro switch, and although he has been able to impress at the Allianz Arena, his time there has been marred by constant fitness problems.

But Nerlinger has told reporters that the club would like to keep Robben on the Bayern flank for years to come.

“We have two world-class players on the wings. (Franck) Ribery has a contract until 2015 and also, with Robben we are striving for a long-term agreement,” Nerlinger said.

Robben is not the only Bayern player who has made it clear that he would like to stay at the club beyond his current deal.

Mario Gomez is also out of contract in 2013 and the forward recently confirmed he is very happy in Bavaria.

Bayern are currently at a training camp in Qatar and return to Bundesliga action against Borussia Moenchengladbach on January 20.
