Sahin not on Dortmund´s radar

Borussia Dortmund have denied the club are interested in re-signing midfielder Nuri Sahin from Real Madrid.

German daily Bild previously reported that the Bundesliga champions were keen to bring back the Turkey international to the Westfalenstadion, but sporting director Michael Zorc has stressed that there is no truth in these stories.

“These rumours are 100 percent false. At the moment, there’s absolutely nothing going on,” Zorc said to Kicker.

Sahin left Dortmund for Madrid in the summer of 2011, but has so far failed to secure regular first-team action at the Santiago Bernabeu.

It is also believed that the 23-year-old’s family is struggling to settle in their new surroundings and is keen to return to Germany.

Nevertheless, a transfer seems very unlikely at present following Zorc’s denial.

Additionally, the financial side of the deal could frustrate a potential transfer as Madrid have reportedly set a 20-million-euro asking price for Sahin.

Dortmund have already splashed the cash on Borussia Moenchengladbach attacker Marco Reus, and can only afford another big-money transfer if they qualify for next season’s Champions League.

The club currently sit joint second in the Bundesliga table with 34 points from 17 games, three points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
