Sampdoria sporting director Pasquale Sensibile revealed the club are willing to listen to offers for captain Angelo Palombo.

The Italy international decided to stay on in Liguria despite the club’s relegation to Serie B in May, but he could be on the move in January, with Sensibile admitting the former European Cup finalists could sell if the right offer comes along.

“We have heard many things said on this footballer,” Sensibile said of Palombo, on Radio Kiss Kiss. “The lad is sensitive, and is making the best of these situations.”

“At the moment Palombo is the captain of Sampdoria, but if something new happens we will communicate that this is a tgood time and in the appropriate arenas.”

“Today, every Sampdoria player must be willing to enter discussions with humility.”

When pressed on the potential interest from Napoli, Sensibile admitted the conditions could be in place for a smooth transfer.

“If there were to be an offer from Napoli? The relationship between myself and (Napoli sporting director) Riccardo Bigon is perfect,” he said.

“We are young, ambitious, and we want to grow up. We will do whatever it takes to improve our current situation.”

Palombo’s former club, Fiorentina, as well as Juventus, had been credited with interest in the 30-year-old before the recent speculation regarding Napoli came to light.
