Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger says he cannot be compared to Barcelona duo Andres Iniesta and Xavi.
Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes has stated more than once that Schweinsteiger reminds him of the Barca pairing, but the Germany international feels his skill set is slightly different.
“They’re both terrific players, no question about that. But I regard myself as a little bit different, especially in physical terms,” Schweinsteiger told the official Bayern website.
“I do win a few balls in the air, simply due to my physical stature. And I also come up with different solutions compared to them.”
“But obviously, I know what Jupp is trying to say.”
Schweinsteiger missed the last two months of 2011 due to a shoulder injury, but is expected to make his comeback in Bayern’s first Bundesliga match after the mid-season break away against Borussia Monchengladbach on January 20.
