Marco Silva has implored Fulham to stay on track with his “ambitious” plan after Sunday’s enthralling 3-2 win at Brentford set a club record for Premier League points.
A quickfire double from Tom Cairney and Harry Wilson midway through the second half earned the victory for Fulham, who completed a league double over their West London rivals for the first time since 1947-48.
It means Fulham have amassed 54 points with one game still to play – the most they have ever accumulated in the Premier League.
Fulham can also still finish eighth, a position that potentially earns a spot in Europe, but Silva does not want to stop there.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “It breaks the points tally from our football club, something this club has never done.
“The fans were very loud this afternoon. They were always there, and it was for the away fans.
“I’m never satisfied and I want to push more. I know it’s not silverware, and we want to push in the competitions as much as we can. We want more and to go as high as we can.
“It’s a great achievement and it’s a statement from this group of players. Now we have more points to fight for against Manchester City.
“The plan is there and clear. The board knows already. The plan is there on the table. It is an ambitious one, let’s see what we can do. The club wants to move forward.”
Our best ever @premierleague points tally.
