Sochaux president Alexandre Lacombe insists that Marvin Martin will not leave the club during the January transfer window.
The France international has established himself as one of the most in-demand players of his country, with several clubs across Europe believed to be monitoring his situation.
Despite recently extending his contract with the Ligue 1 side, Martin has made no secret that he wishes to further his career elsewhere, but Lacombe stressed that the midfielder will not leave before the end of the season.
“Marvin is not at his usual level right now and he has a lot at stake,” he told RMC.
“I told him on the day of his return that there will never be good players at mediocre clubs.”
“It is necessary that our collective results get much better so that everyone can reap the rewards.”
“Marvin Martin will not leave during the winter market. That is not our wish, nor the player’s wish.”
Last month, the 23-year-old was named the Revelation of the Year by the France Football magazine.
