Stoke City manager Tony Pulis praised his team’s collective effort after they secured a 1-0 win away to Everton on Sunday.

Centre-back Robert Huth claimed the winning goal 15 minutes into the match at Goodison Park.

Stoke’s second win in succession helps them climb to eighth place on the English Premier League table.

And Pulis said it took all 11 players working together to claim a valuable victory on the road.

“I think the team being a team, if anyone made a mistake there was always someone there working hard to cover for them,” Pulis said.

“We dealt with a lot of balls in the box. Everton are very, very good – their quality is fantastic.”

“They’ve got some big lads and we’ve dealt with them very, very well today.”

“I don’t think our goalkeeper’s had a shot to save all the way through the game, and that’s testament to the ten outfield players, let alone the goalkeeper, the ten outfield players. (It’s) very pleasing.”

Everton boss David Moyes felt his team dominated possession in the contest, but were let down by their inability to threaten in attack.

“What wins games is goals, and they got the goals and we didn’t,” Moyes said.

“But I’ll be surprised if we’ve certainly not had a massive amount of the ball, territorial advantage and positions to create chances and positions to score goals.”

“We never got anything on target, we never put in good balls, we never did a lot of that. We were in good positions to create opportunities but didn’t do so.”

“When you’re defending against a really big side, and we weren’t the biggest side today … it was always going to be difficult.”
