Swallows skipper pledges loyalty

Skipper Lefa Tsutsulupa wants to extend his contract with Moroka Swallows when it runs out at the end of the season.

The dreadlocked 31-year-old is happy at Swallows and wants to help the team clinch the League title.

The news will please Swallows’ managing director and chief executive officer, Leon Prins, who has already said the club is negotiating a contract extension.

Speaking to KickOff.com, Tsutsulupa said he has a great deal of respect for coach Gordon Igesund and is looking forward to continue working with him.

“I am not going anywhere. I am staying at Swallows,” said Tsutsulupa, who has scored three league goals so far this season.

“I am currently engaged in talks with them (Swallows management) and I am waiting for my manager who is not in the country at the moment to come back so that we can finalise the issue.”

“I am happy here and I do not see myself moving to another club because I enjoy working with the coach, who is very experienced.”

The midfielder revealed that Swallows are working on a plan to defeat Platinum Stars, who he says will start favourites on Saturday.

“Platinum Stars have been playing very well at home but we will be out to exploit some of their weaknesses, which we have identified,” Tsutsulupa said.

“It will be a good game for the fans because we are also playing very well and we want to go for three points.”
