Ghana striker Prince Tagoe is unfazed by criticism he has been receiving in his home country ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Although the Bursaspor forward admitted some of the criticism can be discouraging, he said it was up to him not to let it affect his performances.
Tagoe said he is fired up for the 2012 Cup of Nations tournament in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, and is looking forward to proving his critics wrong.
“I feel to become a better player, all this is part of the game,” Tagoe told KickOffGhana. “It is those who have you at heart who will criticise you. I believe I can come back to my old form.”
“Naturally, some of the criticisms will affect you especially when people overlook so many things. I think with prayers and hard work we will be able to overcome it very quickly.”
With Ghana’s key striker Asamoah Gyan racing against time to recover from a hamstring strain ahead of the tournament, the west Africans will hope Tagoe and Marseille forward Jordan Ayew can deliver up front.
