Emiliano Viviano says he is delighted with his move from Inter Milan to Palermo and is eager to play again after a long injury lay-off.
The Sicilians acquired Genoa’s 50 percent stake in the Italy international, and although Inter still hold the other half of his rights, Viviano will ply his trade at Palermo in the second half of the season.
“Finally I can start playing again and I’ll be doing it at an important club with passionate fans,” the goalkeeper said.
“The last few months have been tough, it wasn’t easy having to spend so much time away from the goalmouth, but I’m really happy now and can’t wait to get on the pitch again.”
“I want to thank president (Maurizio) Zamparini for his faith in me and all the Palermo fans who have given me so much support in just these few hours I’ve been here.”
“I also want to thank (Inter) president (Massimo) Moratti, all my ex-team-mates and the medical staff at Inter who have been fantastic in these last months.”
Viviano, who has been sidelined since July with a serious knee injury, could make his Palermo debut in next week’s Serie A game at home versus Genoa.
