Juventus forward Mirko Vucinic says he is looking forward to welcoming his former Roma team-mate Marco Borriello to Turin.
The 28-year-old said the Italy international’s impending arrival on loan will bring more quality to Juve’s attack, and ensure other strikers have to work harder than ever to stake their claim for a starting role.
“I have not heard much (from Borriello) lately, but I can only speak well of him,” Vucinic told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“We all know he is a very good striker and also a nice guy. Am I worried about competition for places in attack? Not at all, the more the better.”
Vucinic compared his varying experiences at Roma and Juventus, and despite feeling reinvigorated in his new surroundings, he said he will not forget his time in the capital.
“Compared to Rome, it is another matter entirely. At Juve, you acknowledge the history and when you’re on the pitch you can feel it,” he said.
“However, I still have fond memories of my Giallorossi past and still hear from former president Rosella Sensi.”
Juventus return to Serie A action on January 8 with a trip to Lecce, while Roma visit Chievo.
