Governing body UEFA have named Premier League referee Howard Webb as one of 12 officials for Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.
The 40-year-old was England’s representative at the Euro 2008 finals, and has since gone on to officiate some of the biggest games in world football.
Webb took charge of Inter Milan’s 2010 Champions League victory over Bayern Munich, before refereeing the World Cup final between Spain and Holland two months later – sending off Everton’s Dutch defender John Heitinga during the clash.
Scottish referee Craig Thomson has also been named among the 12 officials.
For the first time in the history of the European Championship, four additional officials have been appointed as assistants, to allow the continuation of the experiment in the use of extra referees.
Euro 2012 kicks off on June 8 with the match between Poland and Greece.
Referees: Cuneyt Cakir (Turkey), Jonas Eriksson (Sweden), Viktor Kassai (Hungary), Bjorn Kuipers (Netherlands), Stephane Lannoy (France), Pedro Proenca (Portugal), Nicola Rizzoli (Italy), Damir Skomina (Slovenia), Wolfgang Stark (Germany), Craig Thomson (Scotland), Carlos Velasco Carballo (Spain) and Howard Webb (England).
Assistants: Marcin Borski (Poland), Tom Harald Hagen (Norway), Pavel Kralovec (Czech Republic), and Viktor Shvetsov (Ukraine).
