Wolverhampton Wanderers are in talks with Marseille to sign Angel Gomes in the January transfer window, according to Ben Jacobs.
The well-respected and well-known journalist has claimed that Premier League club Wolves and Ligue 1 outfit Marseille are in talks over a straight loan deal for Gomes.
Jacobs wrote on X: “Wolves in talks with Marseille over a straight loan for Angel Gomes. Nothing agreed yet with Marseille.”
Gomes joined Marseille in the summer of 2025 and is under contract at the French club until 2028. The 25-year-old England international midfielder has made 20 appearances for Marseille so far this season, scoring four goals and providing one assist in the process.
Marseille are third in the Ligue 1 table at the moment with 38 points from 19 matches, seven points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain. As for West Ham, the Hammers are currently third from bottom in the Premier League table with 20 points from 23 games, five points behind 17th-placed Nottingham Forest.
