QPR keen on De Guzman

Queens Park Rangers are keen on securing a deal for Villareal’s Jonathan De Guzman in time for this weekend’s Premier League kick off, according to the Express.

The midfielder, who started three of Netherlands games at this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil, spent the last two seasons on loan with Swansea City.

During his time with the South Wales club, he racked up ninety-three appearances in all competitions, scoring fifteen goals – two of which came in the 5-0 League Cup final victory over Bradford City in February 2013.

Hoops manager Harry Redknapp has already strengthened his midfield by bringing in Jordan Mutch from Cardiff City, while he is also considering moves for Mohamed Diame of West Ham United and Lokomotiv Moscow’s Lassana Diarra.

QPR host FA Cup winners Hull City in their first game of the campaign on Saturday afternoon, and the home win can be backed at 6/4.
