It’s semi-final time in the Champions League and the Europa League with some mouth-watering midweek fixtures to look forward to. We’ve picked out a fourfold that could bring a tidy return.

Tuesday 2nd May

CET 19:45 Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid

The first of the Champions League semi-finals takes place at the Bernabeu where Real Madrid take on Atletico in a repeat of last season’s final. Expect a tight and tense derby game with little between the sides although los Blancos will know they will need to take something to the Calderon if they are to progress. Cristiano Ronaldo tends to be the man for the big occasion and he could be the player to make the difference.

Tip: Cristiano Ronaldo to score anytime @5/6

Wednesday 3rd May

CET 17:45 Ajax v Lyon

Ajax take on Lyon with both sides aiming for a place in the Europa League final. Lyon have been beaten on their last two away trips in the competition, at Besiktas and Roma, and may struggle against an Ajax side who have not last at home since August.

Tip: Ajax to win @13/10

CET 19:45 Monaco v Juventus

Having dispatched Barcelona, Juventus are many people’s favourites to win the Champions League but face a tough test against a young and exciting Monaco side. The likes of Radamel Falcao and Kylian Mbappe will give the visitors’ superb defence a thorough test but are they good enough to breach a backline that managed to hold the might of Barcelona at bay?

Tip: draw or Juventus @2/5

Thursday 4th May

CET 20:05 Celta Vigo v Manchester United

Manchester United are the last English team left in Europe and head to Spain with huge injury problems, particularly in defence. In stark contrast Celta rested several players at the weekend and will fancy their chances of scoring against an injury-hit United defence. However, the Red Devils remain a threat with their attacking options and will be out to grab an away goal, that could prove crucial.

Tip: both teams to score @1/1
