Manchester United midfielder Anderson believes Old Trafford is the right place for him despite struggling to earn a regular starting spot.

The Brazilian midfielder joined from Portuguese side Porto in 2007 with rich potential, yet injuries, poor form and off-the-field incidents have seen his career stagnate.

However, the 24-year-old is now injury-free and getting game time for United and he is determined to kick-start his career with Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.

“I know this is the best club for me and I am very happy here,” he told reporters.

“Sometimes I have had difficult moments but I’ve always got through them. I hope my injuries are behind me.”

Anderson only made 10 appearances for United during the 2011/12 season and there were widespread rumours that Ferguson was looking to cut his losses and move the Brazilian on.

However, the central midfielder has been working hard this season, and featured in the 2-1 win away at Cluj in the Champions League, as well as scoring a brilliant goal against Newcastle in the League Cup.

Anderson believes in order to remain at United, he will need to utilise all the experience he has to ensure he stays in top condition.

“I’m 24 now and I’ve learnt a lot in the last few years,” he said.

“I understand that to do well in my career I have to look after myself and train hard.”
