Arsenal interested in Sane as Zubimendi deal moves closer

According to The Times, Arsenal are interested in signing Leroy Sane, set to become a free agent as his contract with Bayern Munich expires this summer. The Gunners are also working to close the deal over the proposed transfer of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, and are looking to get him to complete his medical before joining up with the Spain squad next week for the upcoming Nations League semifinal against France.

Arsenal have made Fabio Vieira, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Reiss Nelson, Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko available for transfer this summer, while the futures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard remain uncertain. Manager Mikel Arteta wants a new winger in his ranks, and he’s apparently keen to reunite with Sane, having worked with him during his time as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City.

Bayern would like to keep the 29-year-old and an offer of a new contract is on his table.
