Australia will travel to Scotland for an August 15 international friendly in Edinburgh, according to a report in the Sunday Express.
According to the report, the match will be played at Hibernian’s Easter Road and will serve as vital preparation for both the teams for their 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers scheduled for September.
The showdown will be the first between the two sides since November 2000, when Australia recorded a 2-0 win, thanks to goals from Brett Emerton and David Zdrilic, in front of 30,985 fans at Hampden Park.
The match will be Australia’s first game in Europe since defeating Wales 2-1 in Cardiff in August.
Australia and Scotland have met four times, with the Scots winning two of the meetings.
