Mario Balotelli will be fined for removing his shirt after scoring the late winner in Milan’s 1-0 victory against Torino on Sunday.
Massimiliano Allegri’s side looked set to drop two crucial points in the fight for a UEFA Champions League berth before Balotelli’s late intervention stole a win that leaves Milan four points clear of third-placed Fiorentina with three games to play.
But the striker was booked for his celebration, something which the club are keen to avoid a repeat of.
“As long as he scores more goals than the shirts he takes off then that is OK,” Milan vice president Adriano Galliani said.
“But taking your shirt off is not acceptable and he will notice that it isn’t acceptable on his handsome payslip at the end of the month.”
Despite Balotelli’s indiscretion, Galliani is delighted with the impact the Italy international has had after joining from Manchester City in January.
Balotelli has scored nine times in 10 appearances since arriving at San Siro and Galliani believes the fact that the striker is a fan of the club has helped him settle quickly.
“We are very happy with Mario, though. He is a Milan supporter and that helps, it gives him something extra,” he added.
“He told me that in 1999 he was going around Brescia with a Milan flag in celebration of [Alberto] Zaccheroni’s Scudetto.”
