Barca re-sign reserve goalkeeper

Barcelona have announced goalkeeper Jose Manuel Pinto has signed a one-year extension with the club.

The 36-year-old had only six months left on his previous deal with the La Liga outfit, but Barca have revealed via their website that he has agreed to prolong his stay at until June 2013.

Pinto arrived at Camp Nou in January 2008 on loan from Celta following a knee injury to Albert Jorquera and joined the club on a permanent basis four months later.

He has provided cover for Victor Valdes but has tasted action in Barca’s Copa del Rey matches, having featured in both legs of the club’s 10-0 aggregate victory against Hospitalet.
