(GSM) – Barcelona are ready to go head to head with Real Madrid in a bid to sign Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez.
The 21-year-old Martinez has recently been linked with a move to Real Madrid following his excellent performances for Athletic this year, besides Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is also keen on him.
According to Sport, Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola is also preparing a bid for this Spanish talent to replace Manchester City bound Yaya Toure.
Bilbao are demanding a €30 million fee for Martinez, but Guardiola would be prepared to do business for around €12 million.
