Barcelona to make Camp Nou return for Athletic clash

Barcelona have announced they will make their long-awaited return to Camp Nou when they play Athletic Bilbao in LaLiga on Saturday.

Barca have not played at their home stadium since May 2023 and have played the last two seasons and the start of 2025-26 at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Company.

The stadium will not be at full capacity as renovation work continues, but 45,401 fans will be allowed in to watch.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou,” Barcelona said in a statement on X.

Barcelona are also working with UEFA to be able to play their Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt at Camp Nou on December 9, and they are awaiting confirmation.

Hansi Flick’s side return to LaLiga action sitting second in the table, three points behind leaders Real Madrid.
