Udinese full-back Dusan Basta says his team are not getting carried away despite their excellent start to the Serie A season.

After a 2-1 win over Siena on Sunday, Francesco Guidolin’s men are surprise league leaders with 21 points from 10 matches.

They sit second in Group I in the Europa League, but Basta, who netted in the win over Siena, said their goals had remained unchanged.

“Yes, I can say we’re going through a very happy period, the whole team is happy,” he said.

“We’re doing well in the Europa League, even if we lost the last match (to Atletico Madrid on Thursday), and in Serie A too, but we’re not aiming too high, we’re not thinking about setting unrealistic targets, our main aim is still to achieve 40 points.”

“So we need to remain humble and give all we have in every match, with all the determination we have.”

Udinese lead Lazio on goal difference at the top of the Serie A, while champions AC Milan are a point behind in third.
