Bitesize Prediction: Kazakhstan vs Finland – 07/09/23

Competition: European Championship qualifying

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/9 @ BetUS

Two sides who will be looking to extend on their respective qualifying romp on Thursday afternoon, Kazakhstan will welcome Finland to the Astana Arena.

Starting with the hosts, while Kazakhstan might have opened their European Championship qualifying adventure tipped as a major underdog to clinch a famous top-two finish in Group H, the Hawks are in the midst of what has been a stunning purple patch. Opening their campaign back on March 26th with a remarkable 3-2 victory at home against Denmark, Magomed Adiyev’s men have won each of their opening three qualifying showdowns. Last seen signing off June’s international break with another gritty display as they clinched what could be a crucial 1-0 win away at Northern Ireland, the Yellows will be desperate to make another Group H statement here. Quickly gaining a reputation for their continued success at the Astana Arena, Kazakhstan have also won four of their previous five showdowns in front of their own supporters over the past 17 months. Likewise, it should also be highlighted, the midweek hosts have seen 10 of their last 11 home fixtures finish with over 1.5 goals.

As for the visitors, signing off June’s international break with what was a routine 6-0 romp at home against San Marino, Finland find themselves in an almost identical position to their Group H rivals. With their qualifying romp underlined by a stellar 2-0 victory against Slovenia a few months ago, Markku Kanerva’s side have won each of their first three Group H appearances. Really finding a clinical edge in the final third, the Hawks are also enjoying their longest winning run since the end of 2020. Knowing that they face what could be a must-win showdown here, Finland should be excited by an eye-catching record against Thursday’s hosts. Landing a 2-0 win when they travelled to the Astana Stadium back in October 2021, Kanerva’s men have won each of their previous four meetings by an aggregate score of 7-1. Likewise, it should be noted, with Finland seeing six of their last seven away fixtures finish with over 1.5 goals, a similar outcome can be found at appealing odds.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Kazakhstan vs Finland 4/9 for Thursday’s European Championship qualifying showdown @ BetUS
